Ticks and tick-borne diseases have remained an adverse challenge for poor communities. As compared to the estimated burden, the burden of tick-borne diseases is increasing worldwide. No region of the world is safe from these tick-borne diseases. But the most affected communities by these tick-borne diseases are those communities that have kept livestock only to earn their livelihoods. Healthcare systems are feeling a high burden of tick-borne diseases. The world economy is suffering from the loss of billions of dollars annually in the form of loss of agricultural and livestock productivity. Moreover, the knowledge of poor communities regarding tick-borne diseases is very poor, which makes it difficult to implement control strategies effectively. Furthermore, recreational activities have become a greater source of the transmission of tick-borne diseases because tourists are at higher risk of coming in contact with ticks. Ultimately, people have to adopt personal protective behaviors and employers have to facilitate those employees who have been affected with tick-borne diseases for efficient management and control of tick-borne diseases. Public health professionals have to work effectively to inform people about these tick-borne diseases because a person’s ability to understand their risks is highly dependent upon their knowledge.
