Increasing the Climate Resilience of the Transport Sector of the Economy and Decarbonization
摘要
This research attempts to assess the potential opportunities for improving the climatic sustainability of the transport sector of the economy using the example of Uzbekistan (Tashkent). The authors identified factors that influence the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by the transport complex in the context of decarbonization. The research uses methods for analyzing the factors influencing the decarbonization of the economy based on statistical data from 2021 to 2023. Climate instability requires the reduction of huge greenhouse gas emissions. Decarbonization of the transport sector is included in the roadmaps for the environmental improvement of the efficiency of energy systems (green transport). The practical value of this research lies in the fact that greenhouse gas emissions polluting the air in Uzbekistan have reached 6.5% of GDP; this figure is constantly growing. The consequence of this situation, as elsewhere in the world, is a dramatic climate change. Climate change is a source of risk for the sustainable development of the economy. This contributes to the deterioration in the utilization of natural resources. The novelty of this research lies in choosing factors for analyzing the decarbonization coefficient of the transport sector. Emissions from road transport in Uzbekistan are growing exponentially compared to other sectors of the economy.
