Developing an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Literacy Program for Lower Primary School Students in the AI Era

Artificial Intelligence (AI) education has become an important topic in education research. However, AI education research has almost exclusively focused on the secondary and university levels, with primary schools receiving little attention. The main purpose of this study is to develop an AI4children curriculum framework for lower primary school students and identify teachers’ views on the AI4children curriculum design. Data was collected from five teachers through individual interviews. The results showed that most teachers believed that the course designed by the researcher was suitable for lower primary school students. Based on the findings, educators could use the framework developed in this study to design appropriate courses for lower primary school students.
