Innovative Approaches: Advances in Artificial Intelligence in Education
摘要
This book provides a comprehensive exploration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education, with a particular focus on Generative AI (GenAI) across global contexts. Drawing on contributions from scholars in 15 countries and regions spanning four continents, the book examines how AI is shaping teaching, learning, curriculum, and assessment in K–12, early childhood, teacher education, and higher education. Across 31 chapters, authors highlight opportunities and challenges for embedding AI in educational practice, including enhancing student engagement, advancing personalised learning, addressing ethical and equity concerns, and developing AI literacy. This book is organised into seven thematic parts: global perspectives; teacher preparation and professional development; age-appropriate curricula; AI-enhanced pedagogy; AI-driven learning platforms and assessment; equity, inclusion, and social considerations; and future directions. Collectively, the chapters emphasise the need for teacher capacity-building, curriculum integration, and culturally responsive and ethical approaches to AI adoption. Case studies, systematic reviews, and design-based research illustrate both grassroots innovation and systemic strategies, while empirical evidence showcases AI’s potential in subject-specific applications, early childhood frameworks, and inclusive learning environments. By framing insights through the dimensions of learning about AI, learning from AI, and learning with AI, the book offers a structured lens to interpret emerging practices and policies. It concludes with a call to action for responsible, collaborative, and human-centred AI integration, contributing to the creation of equitable, high-quality, and future-focused educational systems worldwide.
