The Potential of Poetry in Educational Research
摘要
This chapter explores how poetic inquiry serves as a powerful method for capturing everyday classroom moments that, when compiled together, inform our understanding of a broader picture of education. The chapter begins by situating poetic inquiry within the broader field of arts-based educational research, emphasizing how creative forms of representation can reveal emotional, embodied, and relational dimensions of teaching and learning often overlooked in more traditional qualitative methodologies. The chapter then details the steps of how poetry was used both as data collection and data analysis to create the inquiry, along with explaining how the poems shared in subsequent chapters were written.
