A Design Innovation Framework for Ru Porcelain as Intangible Cultural Heritage
摘要
As a representative form of Chinese intangible cultural heritage, Ru porcelain embodies profound historical and aesthetic values. However, in the context of contemporary cultural consumption and the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), Ru porcelain faces challenges such as weakened cultural relevance, limited innovation in design, and disconnection from modern users’ lifestyles and a lack of AI-driven support for innovation, which limits its relevance and adaptability in modern design contexts. Existing research and design practices often fall short in bridging traditional craftsmanship with contemporary needs. This study employs an interdisciplinary research approach, integrating cultural analysis, design research, and user research, aiming to construct a brand-new theoretical and practical framework. By analyzing the obstacles in the inheritance process of Ru Porcelain cultural products, issues such as cultural disconnection, lack of emotional and practical connections with modern users, and limitations of existing product development are identified. In response to these problems, a theoretical path combining design thinking with cultural re-contextualization is proposed, and an integrated model of “Intangible Cultural Heritage + Design + Lifestyle Scenarios” is constructed. The goal is to enhance user resonance and cultural identity of Ru Porcelain cultural products and improve their market competitiveness.
