In May 2021, Hangzhou was officially designated as the demonstration city for systematically and full-field promotion of sponge city construction. Lin’an District, as one of the districts of Hangzhou, better promoting the sponge city construction, focuses on urban flash flood and waterlogging control in accordance with the national, provincial and municipal construction goals, planning four sponge city priority construction regions with a total of 19.64 km2, looking forward to the construction effectiveness of sponge city, and it is estimated that the sponge city construction region will reach 57.23% of the urban developed area by 2025, which will provide an urban construction sample for Hangzhou and even the whole country to systematically and full-field promotion of sponge city.
