Future Directions in Educational Impact Assessment
摘要
This chapter examines the future of educational impact assessment as a field shaped by technology and social responsibility. It emphasizes shifting from purely technical methods to ones that are ethical and socially legitimate. The chapter discusses megatrends—large forces reshaping education—such as emerging technologies, longitudinal perspectives, social trust, and sustainability, with illustrative cases. It highlights future challenges—such as data governance, equity, social return, trust, and institutional capacity—as critical inflection points for evaluators. The future of impact assessment is envisioned as combining rigor, innovation, and legitimacy, serving as a public good and intergenerational bridge toward fairer, sustainable futures. Ultimately, impact assessment is both a science and a social practice, driving systemic change.
