This chapter describes the qualitative development of the Coaching Effectiveness Scale (CES) to address the lack of validated coaching outcome measures. Guided by Classical Test Theory, the study followed a structured process of construct definition, item generation, and refinement. Seven domains of coachee outcomes informed a 39-item pool, which was evaluated through expert review and 6 focus groups (33 participants). Thematic analysis confirmed the framework and refined the instrument into a 24-item scale, subsequently tested in a pilot for usability and clarity. The CES offers a theoretically grounded and practically applicable tool, providing researchers and organisations with a structured framework to evaluate coaching effectiveness.

摘要
