Personality Disorders
摘要
The distinction between personality disorders, neuroses, psychoses, and, above all, normality is difficult and controversial. Common to all personality disorders are disturbances in emotional experience, perception of reality, self-perception and self-presentation, impulse and self-control, and ego-syntony. They affect all aspects of thinking, experiencing, behavior, and relationships with oneself and others. Since patients with personality disorders rarely seek out a psychotherapist directly, doctors have an important function and responsibility in motivating individuals to undergo appropriate treatment and receive long-term support.
