Surface Coating of Hard Layer Created Using Electric Discharge Machining
摘要
This article presents the use of green compact powder metallurgical tools for surface modification in the electrical discharge coating (EDC) process. For tool fabrication, 325 mesh size copper and tungsten powders are used. Variations in peak current and pulse on-time under a constant compact load of five tons led to the deposition. Surface roughness measurements and surface characterization utilizing Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) analysis are used to evaluate performance. The results showed that the appropriate parametric combination determines the surface quality. Surface analysis uses morphological investigations to investigate the existence of metallic tool powders.
