Review works indicate that damming on river has growingly been appearing as a major global concern. Theoretical interplay among damDam-river-wetlandWetland has been explored through some specific mechanisms like seepageSeepage, flooding, groundwaterGroundwater support, tie-channelTie-channel connection, etc. In order to explore this relation, wetlandWetland-dominated Atreyee RiverAtreyee River basin spanning between India and Bangladesh was selected, as it underwent damming in 2012, leading to significant hydrological medications in river and riparian systems.
