The Sustainability Course Designation as Key Stakeholder Communication
摘要
An account of the process by the university-wide Sustainability Committee at SUNY New Paltz to develop and then officially propose a sustainability course designation. The author highlights the key steps towards a viable and meaningful higher education sustainability commitment and the impact of creating a course designation keyed to sustainability-focused or sustainability-related courses. This change to the course catalog enables a university to meet the needs of students who look for relevant content in their programs of study. Additionally, the published designation communicates progress that has been made, both externally to the public and internally to campus members.
