My Place in the World: Designing a Regenerative, Sustainable Education Foundation for Students in the Twenty-First Century
摘要
Andrea Varga’s Introduction to Sustainability seminar employs the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) framework to empower learners to understand and tackle the most critical socio-economic and environmental challenges of the twenty-first century. Through a creative, personalized, evidence-based, and interactive curriculum, Varga integrates solutions-based experiential learning activities to address urgent issues. Inquiry-based research provides opportunities for students across the disciplines to exercise curiosity and change agency skills on the personal, local, and regional levels. Learners develop systems-thinking abilities and explore interconnections between global issues and their own lives, guiding them to build a sense of their place in the world and embrace individual responsibility. Learners can lean into their own interests and become motivated to prototype impactful projects by beginning with nature journal and zine-making activities.
