Neuronutrition: Evaluating the Efficacy of Natural Compounds in Neurodiversity for Brain Health
摘要
Neuronutrition is an emerging field exploring how specific nutrients influence brain health, aging, and neurodegenerative risk. With growing interest in strategies to promote cognitive longevity, targeted compounds such as antioxidants, polyphenols, vitamins, and microbiota-modulating agents are gaining attention for their roles in modulating neuroinflammation, oxidative stress, and the gut–brain axis. This chapter highlights autism spectrum disorder as a case example of how precision neuronutritional interventions can support both neurodevelopment and systemic health. Compounds like glutathione, Boswellia, medicinal mushrooms and vitamins B are examined for their mechanisms of action and translational relevance. The broader goal is to illustrate how neuronutritional interventions can modulate key neurobiological pathways, offering a scientifically grounded approach to enhancing neuronal resilience and extending cognitive healthspan throughout aging.
