Exploring Immersive Gaming Experiences: A Comparative Analysis of Game Platform Features
摘要
As video games continue to evolve, their potential benefits and immersive capabilities have gained increased attention. This study investigates how various features of gaming platforms contribute to immersion in game environments. We examined factors such as control responsiveness, graphics quality, screen size, and comfortability across three platforms: PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Meta Quest 2 virtual reality (VR) headset. We gathered data on users’ perceptions of immersion through user studies involving low and high-stimulation games followed by post-gameplay questionnaires. Additionally, users provided insights into their preferences for specific platform features. Our findings reveal nuanced differences in immersion experiences across platforms, with the Meta Quest 2 particularly scoring high in terms of graphics, controls, and screen size.
