Smart Glasses for Real-Time Navigation and Obstacle Avoidance for Visually Impaired Users
摘要
This paper presents the design and development of a novel smart glasses system aimed at enhancing the safety and independence of visually impaired individuals. The system integrates real-time obstacle detection and object recognition to facilitate navigation in dynamic environments. It incorporates multimodal user interaction through voice commands, haptic feedback, and audio notifications, ensuring intuitive and accessible operation. A GPS-based emergency alert feature enables automatic caregiver notification in critical situations. The device is engineered as a lightweight, wearable solution op-timized for daily use, combining portability with functionality. Overall, the proposed system advances accessible technology by promoting user autono-my and situational awareness.
