Digital image watermarking is a widely used technique for embedding information into digital images to achieve copyright protection, authentication, and data integrity verification. This work presents an approach for images watermarking that embeds the watermark image into the original image using the Least Significant Bit (LSB) method. Because it is a straightforward and popular approach due to its simplicity and ease of implementation. Different images are chosen as original images and one watermark image is embedded on the original images for simulation purpose. By comparing the watermarked image's Mean Square Error (MSE) and Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) with the original image, the system's efficacy is determined. The robustness of the system is also checked by adding various types of noises into the watermarked image. The embedding of watermarked bit into the original image leads to increase in MSE and decrease in PSNR as insertion is shifted from LSB to Most Significant bit (MSB) which proves the LSB insertion is considered as optimal strategy for watermarking.

摘要
