Embedded Control System Development: A Model Based Design Approach
摘要
Faster changes in embedded systems are leading to improvements in the automotive, healthcare, and industrial automation fields. Since systems are becoming more complicated and linked, we need methods of development that are efficient, reliable, and can handle large-scale projects. Usually, integrating high-level design ideas with hardware in traditional embedded systems leads to problems and can impact performance. This paper demonstrates the use of the STM32F429I-DISC1 development board and generates C code from a MATLAB/Simulink model. A model is developed to change the intensity of an LED based on the change in an analog input signal. It was found that model-based design and code automation can significantly decrease the development time of the system. Simulink allows users to observe the output in hardware as well as software in real-time. The same method can be applied to complex problems in industrial automation and robotics. It also points out that this method can greatly impact the development of embedded systems.
