Electric Vehicle Transition Policies and Strategies
摘要
In this chapter, we outline a range of policies aimed at effectively decarbonizing the transport sector. We consider both the measures that favor a reduction and/or a shift in transportation modes, as well as those that promote the adoption of cleaner vehicles in both developed and developing economies, such as the USA, EU members, China, and India. We analyze the collected information on government policies, subsidies, and other rules and laws, and their impact on the transition to EVs. In summary, uncertainty surrounding EV policies could hinder the growth of the EV market and may also risk derailing an entire ecosystem supporting clean mobility. A long-term financial commitment to fund incentives and infrastructure programs that supported the transition to clean mobility is imperative.
