In our daily lives, we need single-use plastic products for several purposes but the stockpiling of these products has led to growing the quantum of plastic pollution around the globe. In this regard, on the eve of World Environment Day, Delhi hosted World Environment Day 2018 under the theme Beat Plastic Pollution. The plastic products market is renowned as one of the flourishing markets among the food and beverage industries on the earth. Water is considered as liquid gold as it is used for several purposes like drinking in this respect bottled water market is developing at a swift pace. The current pandemic situation has impacted positively on the water bodies as plastic garbage dumping has reduced to a larger extent. The basic objective of the study is to identify reasons behind the consumer preference for single-use plastic products like bottles and bags over steel, glass bags and jute bags. Based on the international know-how and state of the art in terms of plastic products, and its thriving demand, a primary survey was conducted in various places in Delhi between 2017 and 2018. The study is based on the empirical method, where quantitative and analytical techniques have been used to get the desired outcome. After the analysis, it was concluded that consumption of single-use plastic products results from a negative impact on all forms of lives.
