Introduction and Overview Policy Framework for Sustainable Development Goals in India
摘要
India’s commitment to attaining the sustainable development goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations is a fundamental component of its policy framework for sustainable development. This study examines India’s comprehensive strategy for incorporating the SDGs into national and state policy frameworks, with a focus on inclusion and cooperation. Important government programs like the government’s Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and the Swachh Bharat Mission complement several SDG objectives, underscoring India’s proactive role in observing and promoting sustainable development throughout its regions. Through a closer look at several government initiatives that implement these international ideas locally, the research highlights India’s multi-tiered governance structure. Despite challenges including limited data availability, few resources, and the intricacy of the federal government, the research highlights the importance of cooperative governance, innovative financing techniques, and technological adoption. India’s approach, which uses a multi-stakeholder strategy to promote equitable and sustainable growth, emphasises the significance of striking a balance between international obligations and local realities. Although a lot of progress has been made, the study indicates that long-term development objectives still depend on ongoing efforts to remove structural obstacles and guarantee the SDGs are implemented effectively. India hopes to do this to build a robust, inclusive, and egalitarian future for all.
