In this study, we identified and analyzed Land Use Land Cover changes and predicted theFuture land use land cover prediction future LULCLand Use and Land Cover (LULC) of Rajshahi City in 2053. We used Landsat TM, ETM+, and OLI remote sensingRemote sensing data to extract Land Use Land Cover (LULC) maps of Rajshahi City for the years 1993, 2003, 2013, and 2023. We also predicted the future urban expansionUrban expansion of Rajshahi City by 2053. Urban expansion was predicted using an Artificial Neural Network (ANN)Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model with the MOLUSCE QGIS plug-in. After successfully implementing the data and methodology, we determined the LULC of Rajshahi City in 2053 using the trained model. By analyzing the LULC of the city, we found that built-up areas and vegetation cover dominated the LULC. Almost 90% of the city area is covered by built-up and vegetation. By analyzing the changing pattern in LULC, we detected that a large amount of vegetation cover was converted into built-up areas. Almost 30% of the vegetation cover was converted to built-up areas between 1993 and 2023. By predictingFuture land use land cover prediction future LULCLand Use and Land Cover (LULC), we detected that Rajshahi City will experience significant urban expansionUrban expansion by 2053. Approximately 55% of the city’s total area is occupied by built-up areas.
