The Intersection of Masculinity and Financial Behaviors, Attitudes, and Beliefs: A Global Perspective
摘要
In the assessment of behaviors and beliefs, it is valuable to define what is normative for a population. To that end, this paper is designed to be a broad yet non-exhaustive reflection of research over the last decade across the globe on men and personal finance. It is not intended to serve as a bar to be measured against, but rather as a place to begin understanding. Works cited focus on the last 10 years to capture current research, with a global purview to help draw a distinction between universal perspectives and those impacted by a variety of socioeconomic and cultural frames. More specifically, it will address nine domains: financial socialization & well-being, financial beliefs and behaviors, financial knowledge, profession, savings & borrowing, financial planning time horizon, risk tolerance & investing, retirement planning & behaviors, and estate planning.
