The goals of stress management can be divided into three stages: Stage 1 is treatment of illness, Stage 2 is prevention of illness, and Stage 3 is promotion of health and enhancement of quality of life. The basic principles of stress management are as follows: first, minimize the frequency of stress response; second, minimize the intensity of stress response; and finally, use stress. Along with daily routines of muscle relaxation and stretching, physical and psychological effects of exercise were reviewed. How to manage anger, workaholism, and loneliness and foster positive thinking were mainly addressed in this chapter.
