Environmental Flow Management
摘要
This chapter is an attempt to environmental flow management, which is really the need of the hour at the global scale. This chapter has clearly depicted the rationale for the flow restoration with respect to the major Indian rivers in general and the Damodar River in particular. There are two popular methods of flow restoration. The first is quantitative flow management and the second if qualitative flow management. This chapter has exhibited the role of local people and governments in flow restorations. Other stakeholders’ roles are also assessed for the sustainable management of the environmental flow of the Damodar River. This type of flow management practice involving the local community certainly shows paths to the other regions of the world facing a similar flow crisis.
