Damodar Valley Corporation and Quantitative Environmental Flow Alteration
摘要
This chapter is concerned with the quantitative environmental flow alterations induced by the dams and development activities at the basin scale in the global and Southeast Asian context. The detailed analysis is attempted based on Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC)-induced flow dynamics. The quantitative flow alterations are measured in terms of the flow duration curve (FDC) methods and the Tenant method based on the historical data of the river flow. This chapter also critically assesses the role of climate change and Land Use and Land Cover (LULC) dynamics on flow alterations.
