Dimensional Accuracy and International Tolerance Grading of 3D-Printed PLA/Wood Half-Lap Joints
摘要
This study assessed the dimensional accuracy of 3D-printed PLA/wood Half-Lap Joint components. The primary objective was to ascertain the achievable International Tolerance grades for the critical rectangular and cylindrical dimensions of the joint and evaluate the resulting joint fit. Male and female half-lap joint components were fabricated, and the dimensions of the lap were measured accurately using digital measuring tools. A qualitative evaluation of the assembly fit was conducted. The data analysis involved calculating deviations, assigning IT grades according to ISO 286-1:2010, and correlating these grades with the observed assembly fits to derive implications for the Design for Assembly guidelines. Alterations to the original design and dimensions were suggested to enhance the compatibility of the Half-Lap joint in 3D-printed PLA/wood.
