Collective agreements form an important part of labour market regulation. Therefore, the conditions for, and the extent of regulation of, lifelong learning under collective agreements is crucial for lifelong learning in labour law. The chapter explores the potential for regulating lifelong learning under collective agreements divided in two main parts. Collective agreements share many traits with other contracts, which may affect their scope and content. In the first part, a thematic analysis is made of such traits' impact on the regulation of lifelong learning. In the second part, an analysis based on what level the collective agreement is concluded is made. The industrial relations model may affect the impact of lifelong learning, where well-coordinated models have the potential to offer more general regulation. The aim is to give a general account for the possibilities regulation under collective agreements may offer, but also its limitations.
