Sight in Crisis: Trauma, Modern Challenges, and Rehabilitation Methods
摘要
The war in Ukraine has significantly increased the number of combat-related eye injuries, creating unprecedented challenges for ophthalmic care. This chapter analyzes the structure of ocular trauma among military personnel and emphasizes the importance of rehabilitation, including psychological support, ocular prostheses, and social reintegration. It also outlines systemic problems such as shortages of ophthalmologists, damage to medical infrastructure, and limited access to equipment and medicines. Special attention is given to the need for comprehensive care and the development of sustainable strategies to support patients with vision loss. The chapter calls for international cooperation and further research to improve outcomes for affected individuals.
