Joint Source and Channel Coding
摘要
JSCC (Joint Source-Channel Coding) is a key technology commonly applied in current semantic communication research. By jointly designing the source coding and channel coding modules, JSCC enables communication systems to achieve higher bandwidth efficiency and a more graceful performance degradation curve under non-ideal conditions. In this chapter, we begin with a brief introduction to the principles of JSCC, exploring how the integration of source and channel coding provides a unified framework for efficient communication. Then we will give an overview of traditional JSCC design methods, focusing on some techniques and strategies that have been employed over the years.
