Battlefield Communications with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles: A Comprehensive Literature Review
摘要
This paper presents a comprehensive theoretical framework for the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in military operations. We cover fundamental concepts to facilitate easy understanding for the reader(s), as well as provide some experimental data. Furthermore, we conducted a systematic literature review (SLR) to assess the main challenges and opportunities associated with the topic, focusing on the area of using UAVs to improve communications in military operations. This systematic literature review, framed by the PRISMA guidelines, led to the collection and analysis of several studies, which played a crucial role in the preparation of this paper. This analysis demonstrates the importance of using UAVs to enhance command and control (C2) capabilities and operational efficiency. Overall, this research contributes to corroborating the importance of UAVs in increasing the reach of communication a C2 capabilities on the battlefield, as well as to establish a reliable basis for subsequent studies in this field.
