Cybersecurity is relevant today because it is responsible for preserving or safeguarding computer data or information belonging to institutions or individuals. In this context, adequate regulation is required. In this regard, this research analyzes the regulations or standards established by some Latin American countries. The study examines the regulations of five countries (Peru, Chile, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina) that have systematized cybersecurity regulations in recent years. The main categories were analyzed based on the study of the standards: purpose, definitions, principles, obligations or responsibilities, and duties related to cybersecurity, entities or organizations that apply cybersecurity, and instruments. It is concluded that the regulations of some Latin American countries aim to safeguard cybersecurity involving state entities and private institutions; they also promote digital security and strengthen cybersecurity competencies or capabilities that are linked to the development of technology and artificial intelligence.
