In this chapter, we review the principles of neuroethics and their application in practice and highlight select controversies related to special populations, including persons with disability, disorders of consciousness, and brain death. Where relevant, we point out that neuroethics priorities and perceptions vary internationally based on a multitude of factors, including culture, religion, law, and resource availability.
