Multi-objective Optimization Algorithms for Wave Energy Harvesting Efficiency

The major objective is to maximum the use of ocean wave energyOcean wave energy capture and the structural integrity of the equipment in different sea conditions. A point absorber system was chosen as a case study, and the performance of the system was tested in varying irregular wave conditions. The optimized designs showed even 30% higher energy output than in configurations at the baseline, also which decrease the excessive structural loading. A balanced trade-off of energy extraction and operational stress was investigated based on MATLAB-based analysis, which allowed to focus on a balanced solution between performance and durability. The results of the experiments alongside the simulated results were compared and agreed on strongly, proving the validity of the method. Using the Pareto frontPareto front analysis, important information was obtained regarding the dependence of power efficiency and structural safety. This strategy can play a major role in ensuring a sustainable incorporation of wave energyWave energy in the future renewable energy systemsRenewable energy systems.
