Twelve horses were evaluated while trotting at a uniform speed over a concrete surface. Using a motion analysis system equipped with sensors, the horses were categorized into six sound and six lame individuals. The sound of the footfalls was recorded and analyzed. The sample entropy was calculated for each horse. Sound horses exhibited higher sample entropy values, indicating more disordered and less predictable signal patterns. The sample entropy results showed statistically significant differences in the audio signals between sound and lame horses.
