DigCompEdu Digital Teacher Training: Challenges and Possibilities in the Era of Digital Education
摘要
The ongoing training of education professionals in Brazil is a principle established by Law No. 9,394/96, which defines the Guidelines and Bases of National Education (LDB), and is essential for promoting quality education. In an increasingly connected and dynamic scenario, the development of digital pedagogical skills becomes crucial to fostering meaningful learning and stimulating student engagement. The integration of Digital Information and Communication Technologies (TDIC) into teaching enables the adoption of new pedagogical practices, aligned with the contemporary demands of society and the job market. In this context, the National Digital Education Policy brought changes to the LDB with the aim of preparing citizens for the challenges of digital transformation, promoting the development of fundamental digital skills for both professional insertion and active participation in the technological society. Regarding the digital training of teachers, it is essential to identify which skills should be developed and expanded so that training initiatives truly contribute to innovation and the improvement of educational practices. With this in mind, the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Brazil, has, in its organizational structure, an area dedicated to the continuing education of its staff, aiming to guarantee excellence in the services provided. Thus, it is relevant to investigate how this structure can strengthen the digital training of teachers, ensuring that the training offered is aligned with the demands of education in the digital age.
