Energy production from fossil fuels causes several environmental problems, including greenhouse gas emissions, air pollution, river and groundwater pollution, destruction of natural habitats and loss of biodiversity. This has led to an urgent need to transitioning to renewable energy sources. This transition has made it possible for anyone to produce energy for their own consumption and to trade with others. This represents a technological and societal revolution and requires a new way of trading energy. Peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading is an innovative model that allows energy consumers and prosumers (those who both produce and consume energy) to trade electricity directly with each other. Blockchain technology has emerged as a key enabler for this P2P energy trading by offering a decentralized approach that reduces dependence on intermediaries, reduces costs, and increases transparency. In this article we propose the creation of a platform that, using blockchain technology, enables the P2P trading of energy from renewable sources.

摘要
