This study explores the transformative role of the sharing economy on the sustainability of sun and beach destinations. Based on sustainability theory and tourism studies, the research aims to identify the main environmental and socioeconomic indicators affected by platforms such as Airbnb and Uber. Through a systematic literature review (SLR) guided by the PRISMA methodology and quality assessment tools, 13 high-quality studies from over 17,000 sources were analyzed. The results show that while collaborative platforms improve resource efficiency and economic participation, they also intensify overtourism, resource depletion, and social tensions. Emerging technologies such as AI, IoT and blockchain were highlighted as essential tools for monitoring and predicting sustainability. The study proposes an intelligent platform that integrates AI and real-time data to support strategic planning. This work brings original value by connecting digital innovation with sustainability management and offers practical insights for policy makers, platform designers and local stakeholders. Its regional focus on northwestern Mexico adds practical relevance and empirical depth.
