Nature-Based Tourism in the Digital Era: A Conceptual Framework for Sustainable Digital Transformation
摘要
Nature-based tourism offers significant opportunities for sustainable development but faces challenges in balancing economic growth, environmental preservation, and community well-being. This paper presents a conceptual framework for the digital transformation of nature-based tourism, integrating Digital Technologies, Tourism Management, and Sustainability into a layered model. The framework highlights the role of digital tools, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, and Augmented Reality (AR), in optimising resource use, enhancing visitor experiences, and promoting sustainable practices. We validated it by cross-referencing with the Sustainable Tourism Development Model, the Triple Bottom Line Framework, and the Sustainable Smart Tourism Destinations Model. Findings underscore the transformative potential of digital technologies while highlighting the need to address infrastructure gaps in rural areas. This study offers theoretical insights and practical guidance, paving the way for sustainable, technology-driven innovation in nature-based tourism.
