Implementation of a Temperature Monitoring and Detection System Using Artificial Vision and Internet of Things for a Tier1 Data Center in the Rack of the Department of Systems of the Universidad Tecnológica Israel
摘要
The project focuses on the implementation of a temperature detection system for the rack of the Israel Technological University, located in the city of Quito - Ecuador. This system allows real-time monitoring of the temperature emitted by the rack and, through thermal images, facilitates the visualization of the radiation of its components. An early warning is established when the temperature reaches or exceeds 32 ℃, in accordance with the ASHRAE TC 9.9 standard, which defines acceptable temperature ranges for data centers, and the TIA-942 standard, which classifies data centers from A1 to A4. Based on these criteria, the university rack is classified as an A1 data center with a permissible temperature limit of 32 ℃. For the continuous capture of data on the ambient temperature and that of critical equipment, such as servers and refrigeration systems, thermal cameras and actuators were installed at strategic points within the Tier 1 Data Center. An artificial vision system processes the information collected through advanced algorithms, analyzing temperature patterns, identifying anomalies and generating real-time alerts in the event of significant deviations. This proactive management prevents equipment failures, reduces energy consumption, and optimizes data center operation. The project prioritizes energy efficiency and environmental sustainability, promoting the reuse of equipment and materials and conducting regular assessments to ensure continuous improvements.
