MATLAB’s Symbolic Toolbox allows functions and expressions to be defined with unknown variable values to simplify and solve problems analytically. Symbolic numbers can have higher precision than other data types, but symbolic computations are slower and require more memory. This chapter focuses on MATLAB's mathmatical computations, such as solving systems of equations and differential equations.
