Mental health conditions, particularly anxiety and depression, are common among older adults but often underdiagnosed and undertreated. Treatment failures and adverse effects are also extremely common in these conditions. As one of the original focuses of pharmacogenomics research, this field offers immense volumes of pharmacogenomic guidance. Case scenarios are proposed and explored to illustrate how PGx data can inform treatment plans through appropriate integration of genetic and other factors.
