Pain is often underdiagnosed and undertreated in older adults. Pharmacogenomic (PGx) guidance exists for nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), opioids, and antidepressants used for pain management. Case scenarios are proposed and explored to illustrate how PGx data can inform treatment plans through appropriate integration of genetic and other factors.
