Physiologic effects of aging include structural and functional changes to the cardiovascular system, affecting chronic condition risk and pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic changes. PGx guidance exists for several cardiovascular conditions, with concentrations in antiplatelet, statin, beta-blocker, and anticoagulation therapies. Case scenarios are proposed and explored to illustrate how PGx data can inform treatment plans through appropriate integration of genetic and other factors.
