In this paper, we present a bottom-up model of the Italian residential building stock called ita-domes. The model uses data from an ISTAT survey on the energy consumption of families to account for the behavioral and technological diversity in energy use within households. The model accounts for different climates within each region. Validation against National Energy Balances of 2013 and 2014 showed alignment for natural gas, electricity and biomass consumption but discrepancies for LPG, gasoline and district heating. The paper shows that the model can provide estimates on the effect of energy efficiency measures with regional resolution, thus being a useful tool to inform policy makers. The model is released as an open-source Github repository. Future work will update this analysis using surveys conducted by ISTAT in 2021 and 2024.

摘要
