Wellbeing at school could not be considered without teachers’ wellbeing and resilience. As teachers are very influential agents of school activity, prioritizing teachers’ wellbeing is very important for promoting an effective and positive learning environment to sustain students’ achievement and academic performance. The wellbeing of teachers reflects the quality of life in school, since teacher retention depends on it. Teachers’ wellbeing could impact the entire school culture, which is why it is important to discuss the issue of teachers’ mental health and wellbeing. The chapter will argue the importance of wellbeing promotion for teachers, the most relevant dimension of teachers’ wellbeing. The chapter will examine the impact of teachers’ wellbeing upon the student’s academic performance, the diminishing of the professional burnout and attrition, promoting personal and professional development, and contributing to a positive school culture. Resilience could be considered a critical trait for promoting school wellbeing. The most important risk and protective factors for teachers’ wellbeing will be analyzed and contextualized within European space. The impact of teachers’ resilience is obvious at the designing-learning environment level, for promoting better school management, for inspiring students in their own deal with challenges, for their own work and life satisfaction. The chapter will analyze some research results regarding the Southeastern Europe teachers’ wellbeing and resilience.
