Cultural Influences on the Mathematical Learning of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
摘要
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by impairments in communication, social interaction, and information processing, which manifest in unique and complex ways (Bosa, 2006). While there is an extensive body of research on the neurological and behavioral aspects of ASD, cultural influences on learning—particularly in foundational areas such as mathematics—remain relatively underexplored. Mathematics, with its emphasis on logical reasoning, problem-solving, and numerical manipulation, plays a critical role in the academic and social development of all children, including those diagnosed with ASD.
