The article presents the results of practical application of visual strategies for the development of critical thinking of students of technical specialties in the process of learning English. Based on the integration of methods of flowchart analysis and visual recoding of professional texts, a three-level system of pedagogical strategies has been developed. It includes decoding, analytical-critical and creative-productive strategies. The practical implementation of these strategies in the educational process revealed their significant effectiveness in the formation of professional competencies of future specialists. Analytical and critical strategies led to a significant improvement in the skills of structuring information and identifying logical contradictions in technical texts, while creative and productive strategies contributed to the development of professional foreign language communication. The highest efficiency was demonstrated by the consistent application of all three types of strategies, which confirms their complementary nature. The practical significance of the study lies in the development of specific visualization methods for technical education, including flowchart analysis of scientific texts and visual recoding of technical instructions, which can be directly integrated into the teaching of English for professional purposes.
