The choice of strategies for the effective design of interdisciplinary professionally oriented content of the discipline “Foreign Language” is one of the urgent tasks of the scientists and teachers of higher professional education. However, the integrated interdisciplinary content of this discipline makes the process of perceiving professionally oriented material in a foreign language perplexed. The problems of effectiveness of the professionally oriented information instructions in a foreign language and the development of visual means of professionally oriented content are the subject of research by both scientists and teachers. Most of them agree that one of the effective tools for designing interdisciplinary connections in teaching a professional foreign language to students of a civil engineering university is an increase in the visual component of the educational material presentation. This article describes the most effective types of visualization tools used in foreign language classes at Moscow State University of Civil Engineering, presents the results of the experimental work, which demonstrate that the visualization ensures interdisciplinary connections of engineering disciplines on the basis of the foreign language discipline, results in clearer understanding of the professional information, improves acquisition of terms, facilitates productive skills, develops critical thinking and improves foreign language instructions to bachelors majoring in engineering as a whole. Based on the theoretical analysis and the results of the experimental work, recommendations for use of a creolized text have been proposed. The creolized text is considered a tool of visualization in teaching a foreign language to students in non-linguistic universities relying on the example of the University of Civil Engineering.
